- History:
- Temple history Temple history A wooden single-altar church in honor of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker was built by parishioners in 1705. The village church, original in its execution, captured the history of the people, the beauty of its culture and spiritual world. For many times it was a spiritual center, a stronghold and a kind of beacon, enlightening and sanctifying everyone with the light of Christ's faith, pointing the way to spiritual perfection. During the revolutionary changes, there were massive church closings, many of which were demolished. St. Nicholas Church was used as a granary and therefore did not fall under destruction. In 1943, the policy of the state towards the Church changed. The church building, which was very dilapidated by that time, was returned to the believers. In difficult conditions of general devastation, it was overhauled by the forces and means of believers, and already in 1946 regular services began in it. However, in 1962, by decision of the authorities, the church was closed and about a year later destroyed. In 1998, the Orthodox community with. Bokino was miraculously handed over to the surviving building of the former parish school. This dilapidated stone building was turned into a church and the religious life of the parish resumed. Since 2001, a Sunday school has been operating at the church. In 2001, the construction of a new two-story church and a church house was started on the old historical site at the expense of a native of the village A.N.Betina. The lower church was consecrated in honor of St. Sergius of Radonezh by His Grace Bishop Theodosius of Tambov and Michurin in 2004. Suddenly, all types of work were interrupted by the tragic death of the benefactor and organizer of the church, Alexander Nikolaevich Betin and his wife Olga Viktorovna (their remains are buried in the crypt of the chapel on the territory of the temple). The chapel was consecrated on August 8, 2005 by His Grace Theodosius, Bishop of Tambov and Michurin. Priests: Since 1879, priest Aleksey Yakovlevich Cherubimov served in the church. Together with him, Peter Ivanovich Romanov passed the deacon service, who was awarded the Order of St. Anne of the 3rd degree for his services to the Church and his homeland. Since 1902, a young priest Yevgeny Pavlovich Kedrov served in the church. The psalmist-deacon was Vasily Alekseevich Zolotnitsky. Since 1912, priest Ivan Sergeevich Vinogradov served in the church. Since 1946 the priest Ivan Alekseevich Sokhransky was the rector of the church. Since 1957, priest Konstantin Alekseevich Semin served in the church. Since 1998, priest Gennady Lvovich Andreev has been the rector of the church. Since 2005, the rector of the church has been Archpriest Vladimir Sergeevich Klenin. Since 2018, priest Georgy Borodin has become the rector of the church. 48211da71f23a338ef6391544b0588c7a33b08fa5e4c0c2e3abf250dd38ba113ccd2cb8a98c4443c879c652c76a84fff
