- The St. John the Theological parish was founded in 1853 in the village of Dmitrievka-Belskaya Tozh, not far from the Nikiforovka railway station, in which 1,070 people lived. The parish was in charge of the villages: Staraya Kazachya Sloboda, Maryino, Ezhokovo, Orlovskaya Luka, Lysovo, Petrovskoe. The staff consisted of two people: a priest and a psalmist. The parish had no church houses. Information about the temple for this period has not been preserved. In 1907, a single-altar, a small, warm red brick stone church and a parish school building were built. The throne was consecrated in honor of the Holy Apostle and Evangelist John the Theologian. By whom he was consecrated, information has not been preserved. In the 30s, the temple was destroyed. The parish school building was used for primary school classes and later housed a shop. On November 16, 1992, a land plot of 0.2 hectares, with a building located on it with a total area of 150 m 2, was returned to the St. John the Theologian parish of the Tambov diocese. Services are currently being held in this building. In 2000, a baptismal area of 35 m 2 was added to the church.... On Sundays, it is used to conduct classes for the children's Sunday school, which is attended by 33 people. The old wrought iron fence has been preserved, which fenced the territory of the temple. In 2012, with the blessing of His Grace Bishop Theodosius, the leadership of the Nikiforovsky district took upon itself the organization of the construction of a new church. The foundation has been laid.
