- The Epiphany Church was built at the expense of parishioners in 1892. The decision to build a stone church was made in 1880. The plan for the construction of a stone church with a refectory and a bell tower in the village of Verkhniye Pupki, Kozlovsky district, was approved in 1884. There was also an attributed wooden cemetery church, formerly a parish one, was built about 300 years ago, the Throne of the Prophet Elijah, destroyed around 1932-33. In Soviet times, the temple was closed around 1932, reopened in 1946. In 1947, Father Ioann Kondakov (born 1904) came to head the parish, and served here for almost 40 years.
