Начало созданию нашего прихода было положено осенью 2005 года, когда группа православных, желавших иметь в Шарлотте Русскую Православную Церковь, была поддержана отцом Алексием из прихода Церкви во имя иконы Божьей Матери "Всех Скорбящих Радости" в Атланте (шт.Джорджия). В течение года отец Алексий окормлял наш приход и содействовал всеми силами его становлению. Летом 2006 года приход принял отец Александр (Логунов). В период времени до Сентября 2009 г. службы проводились в помещении Сербской Православной церкви Св.Симеона Мироточивого. В Сентябре 2009 года, милостью Божией был приобретен участок земли для храма, в районе, прилегающем к центру Шарлотты.
