- The church was built over a decade, between 1992 and 2002, under the guidance of Patriarch Teoctist and the initiative of the late Nestor, Metropolitan of Oltenia. On December 15, 2002, it was consecrated by Metropolitan Teofan, alongside Bishops Gurie of Craiova and Irineu of Râmnic. Between 2005 and 2009, the interior was adorned in fresco style by Florica and Eugen Papici from Drobeta‑Turnu Severin. In September 2009, the church was re‑consecrated by Metropolitan Irineu. Since its founding, the parish has been very active: hosting catechesis, philanthropic events, and publishing a monthly parish magazine titled “Calea Înălțării” (The Way of the Ascension) since 2009.
